Hello, first let me say I’m not actively ''looking'', so not a full member on here, however maybe there''s a like minded soul who male or female wants to get in touch for some friendly banter and to establish that fabled friendship so often wished for on profiles... Enjoy music of most types, tend to get in a rut for a while then blow out on new music. Very passionate about music I love and hate... I love Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancasters, etc, member of Duxford War Museum, love classic cars and sports cars and I have a cunning plan to get one... Also find warships extremely interesting, been to the main ones but no longer live near to any – used to live near and be a member of the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth, now I live near to Duxford hence a member of that instead... Enjoy walking, cycling days out, camping (recently rediscovered...) and generally getting outdoors. Rediscovering horse riding – grew up riding, seven year break, back to lessons... Love the theatre and ballet, off to see my first opera in October – no idea why I haven’t done so earlier. Been to the theatre and ballet often in the past although not too much recently, lots of events booked for the rest of this year though. Very interested in environmental issues - keen recycler, re-use everything I can and get the most out of everything I can – without being grim or obsessive... well not too much... ;) Have three, yes three, Oriental cats – yes, they are like Siamese (everyone asks that...) – Orientals are coloured though, so mine are red, spotted tabby and havana (chocolate). I also read – do I get a gold star? Ahem... I read a wide range including social history, fiction, chick lit, mags – Focus/New Scientist/Viz... etc, rarely buy newspapers as such a waste of money and paper – read them online instead now and then attempting to sift through the propaganda. Not a huge TV person, prefer the occasional selective viewing – definitely not an evening sofa browser... although I am a master in sitting still and comfy watching a good DVD when I''m in the mood... I’m a keen amateur gardener (did very well this year), already have plans for next year although I only have a container garden – Wisteria flowered for the first time this year though, I am clearly a genius... haha. Also interested in history, war history, social history (UK in particular) and general UK history plus feminist history and current issues - this means equality for men and women, it does not mean burning bras... Anything interesting and informative gets my vote. Very much a film person – prefer British film but the occasional blockbuster goes down very well. I’m happy with all genres and pitches. I''ve seen some excellent foreign films recently and always open to recommendations - The Lives of Others and 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days are most recent. Just started learning French... shall be happy if I end up being able to order a red wine, have a rudimentary conversation and discover basics rather than order five of anything, annoy everyone and ask if someone shops at Habitat. Hmm. Embarking on round two of giving up smoking. Stopped in April, started again in July, all guns blazing this time though - don''t worry, I''m heavily sedated :))) If anything I''ve written hits a chord then perhaps get in touch. Chocks away...
